Default Console Hot Key

Does anyone know if I can change the Console Hot Key Home to any key I want? I was thinking of changing it to F-1 Is this possible?
Thanks

Hi Josey,

In the Application Console, under Control Panel, click on "Program settings". The right side panel shows the program settings options, click on the "Program Appearance" tab. There you can customize the Subsystem Console hotkey from HOME to something else.

Hope that helps. Thanks for stopping by!

Best,
Jacob

Thanks Jacob. After making the change I rebooted but it still shows Home not F-1 I think I'll just leave well enough alone.

Hi again Josey, I just tried it and it worked for me. Just in case, be sure to check mark the box next to "change Subsystem Console hot key from HOME to" > assign the key > and then click OK at the bottom. You can try this in case you change your mind.

Jacob upon reboot it still shows press Home key instead of F1 If someone didn't know I changed the key to F1 and needed to get to the console they would have no luck by pressing Home key. Upon reboot it should say press F1 to get to the console.
Thanks

Hi Josey, you are correct and it's the same case for me. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. I'll pass this along to our team.

Thanks,
Jacob

The PRESS HOME Key is a default image and text that is part of the Subconsole. When you change the HOT_KEY combination - this is done for obvious security reasons. eg. you do not want anyone to have access to the subconsole or take snapshots etc. It is for this reason that the default image and message is always shown to the user, even if the HOT_KEY combination has been changed.

I can put this in as a feature request and see if the development team needs to address this in the next build,.

Thanks.

My system will not enter Rollback Rx when I hit the HOME key at the proper time upon boot. I have tried and installed several different keyboards and this did not help.

I have tried selecting different hot keys (e.g., PageDown) and that did not help. I must be able to get to Rollback Rx when and if I have a computer crash.

As things stand now I can't "get into" Rollback Rx upon reaching the screen which requests pressing HOME. Yes, I know that that particular slide says "HOME" regardless of which hotkey I may have specified. It doesn't help.

If I specify "abcd" and I press the "abcd" key, it doesn't get me into the subsytem console.

Who knows what the problem is and how I can fix it?

The subsystem console doesn't seem to "see" the key that I press.

Thank you
Mike B

You wouldnt be using a USB keyboard would you? If so, you may need to enable USB Legacy or USB Dos support in the BIOS.

A PS/2 keyboard will work fine.

Hope this helps
