I am trying to install Rollback Rx demo on my pc,it has 6 partitions and 2 Win 7 x64 os installed. When I run setup, choose custom install, and this is a multi boot system,it installes and at the end it says finish. It says the computer must be rebooted, but the reboot now never comes up.I click finish, and manually reboot, the pc reboots and nothing gets installed. On the desktop, the rollback rx icon is there but greyed out.I uninstalled, reinstalled, and chose this is not a multi boot pc,and this works,it installed the boot thing, got on my desktop, icon was there and running, but when I rebooted, and chose my other win 7 it will not boot any more.I really want to try,and buy, this software, but can I do to get it to work .Any ideas...thanks.

Hi NIK1. Here is a step by step instruction on how to setup Rollback on a multiboot system.
Installing Rollback on a multiboot system requires that you install just the CONSOLE on all your OS's except the last one, which will require both the console and subconsole installed. If done correctly, you'll be able to access all your snapshots in any OS. Keep in mind that snapshots taken are shared across all OS's and are NOT unique to any particular OS. NOTE: Just to state the obvious but remember that Rollback is not Linux compatible and it in not recommended to have Linux with a dual or multiboot system if Rollback is to be installed. 1. Boot into your first OS (any OS can be your first OS) and start the Rollback setup file. Click on "Setup" ![]() 2. Click "Install" ![]() 3. Click "Next" ![]() 4.Click "Next"

5. Choose the option shown then click "Next"
![]() 6. Choose the option shown then click "Next" ![]() 7. Enter your details. If you have a valid product ID, enter it now. Otherwise click on "Demo" and then click on "Next" ![]() 8. Click "Next"

9. This window is important. Make sure you choose the second option as shown below because this is your first OS install and NOT your last one. Then click "Next"
![]() 10. Click "Next" ![]() Your Rollback install should now install itself. At the end you'll have to do a manual reboot. It's not necessary to reboot into the same OS at this time. Upon reboot choose your next OS to install Rollback on and follow the same procedure outlined. When you boot into your LAST OS, follow the procedure again until you get to this screen ![]() Its important that you now choose the first option as shown. This will install the subconsole that will tie all the OS's together (in respect to the functionality of Rollback). You'll also see a new window asking which drives you want to protect. Choose them now. Keep in mind that if you later want to add or remove which drives you want protected then you'll have to uninstall Rollback and reinstall again, losing all of your snapshots of coarse. Choose carerfully. That's all folks! Goodluck! PS When you decide to purchase and activate Rollback, make sure that you reboot into the same OS until activation takes. I dont know if there will be any adverse effects if you boot into another OS halfway through activation but common sense dictates that you are required to boot back into the same OS until the activation process is complete. ( dont invite trouble). Lastly, when Rollback is activated in one OS, its automatically activated in all OS's (whew!!!) Last edited by carfal; 07-29-2010 at 01:22 AM. |

Thanks, This was a lot of help in getting both of my OS running with RollBack. Just one other question, to removed Rollback if I uninstall it on my XP OS will I have to run the uninstaller on my Win 7 OS also? |
