Default Syncronizing laptops on network

Any thoughts on how we tackle laptop syncronization with DV installed?

I'd hate to tell the teachers that all the work they did over the weekend has been removed.
Perhaps we can tell DV to ignore certain folders, such as offline cache? Is there such an option? - I dont see one.

Drive Vaccine PC restore plus has a "Freeze Space" feature, where files and folders can remain persistent. You can have your teachers save thier files on this drive space so that they do not delete on the scheduled restors. This would be one solution.

Another way would be to schedule the synchonization to occur at a consistent - fixed time (eg. 11 PM on mondays) and then have Drive Vaccine scheduled to be disabled at say 10:55PM to allow for any updates etc... This is similar to how Drive Vaccine handles Anti-virus and OS updates as well.

You can also "manually" disable the restores temporarily to allow for any synchorization or changes. Take a look at the follow screenshot: http://www.horizondatasys.com/files/...cine_Plus4.jpg

None of those options will work.

* I cant have the teachers simply saving their work to the exempt drive because that's not where Windows keeps the sync cache!
* Syncronizing at a fixed time won't work because teachers login at various times of the day and the laptops syncronize at login. A fixed time is just not practical.
* Manually disabling is not practical either with 100 or so laptops.

Is it possible to add a 'ignore specified folders' feature? That would be sooo handy and would solve a lot of problems.

Unfortunately, by achitechture Drive Vaccine needs to work at the physical level of the hard disk, as opposed to working within Windows. It is for this reason that we can not select Windows Files/Folders to be exempt.

BTW. Most Viruses and volnnerabilities occur within Windows system folders, thus could perhaps defeat the purpose of the security the Drive Vaccine provides.
