Virtual Drive says needs to be formatted???

Exploring a ego image file loads as a virtual drive but when try and explore it says the virtual drive needs to be formatted??? Format a virtual drive?

But trying to verify it gives error:
"Load cache unit: CR32 error.

Am using an external USB "FreeAgent" drive.

Acronis backs up to it fine I have Drive Cloner backups in a separate directory and has worked before.

Will try to redo image (it is a full backup) but odd warnings
