I am trialing Drive Cloner RX (I had used the Imager included w Rollback RX 8.1) & twice today when making a full image of my C drive I got this message:
"Volume Shadow Service is not supported for drive C [ERROR_VSS_VOLUME_ERROR] start backup in archive mode." What does that mean? Your Help has no section to interpret errors! The end result both validates & mounts fine. Thanks Chaz |

After reading this I started imaging my current C drive. I saw no mention of (or place to click) shadow copy on Drive Cloner RX |

Drive Cloner does the Shadow Copy automatically, without need for a user to check any box for it. The example I gave was for the Windows Backup program in XP, which isn't nearly as versatile as products on the market for purchase. If you open a ticket with Support, they or the Dev team may be able to figure out why you are getting that error message.

When Drive Cloner Rx backs up a partition, it will first try to use the Windows Volume Copy Shadow Service (VSS). But if for some reason the VSS is not enabled on the PC (because it's not installed or the service cannot be started), the Drive Cloner will backup the partition using the conventional method. It will work just fine.

I realize this is an old post but only one I could find on it....
Same problem here and Volume Shadow Services IS running (set to manual but is running) but Drive Cloner RX says "Volume Shadow Service is not supported" on any of my drives as it backs them up. |
