When Drive Cloner Rx backs up a partition, it will first try to use the Windows Volume Copy Shadow Service (VSS). But if for some reason the VSS is not enabled on the PC (because it's not installed or the service cannot be started), the Drive Cloner will backup the partition using the conventional method. It will work just fine.
