Defragmenting, part 2
It occurs to me that instead of my earlier suggestion of how to have a primary defragmented snapshot, you could simply reorder the existing defragmenter.
Instead of always starting with the index and then moving down the tree from there, allow the user to reorder how snapshotting is done, or at least choose which snapshot gets defragmented first.
If you choose the "primary snapshot" as the first snapshot to be defragmented, it will always get the sectors it wanted, second only to the snapshot index itself.
Then you simply do a system defragment followed by a rollback defragment, and your primary snapshot is defragmented.
